Terral RiverService Fall 2011 Newsletter

Dec. 6, 2011

After a spring of heavy rains and flooding, Terral RiverService had a busy, fun, and productive fall season.

Terral logo markYou’ve probably noticed our new look. The TERRAL name coupled with a two-part T represents our company’s diversity as a leading river and a land-based services company. We appreciate the patience of our customers and vendors throughout the process of extending this new appearance to all our locations and documentation.

New push boatIn October, we christened our 14th push boat, the M/V Thomas M. Gattle. This retractable-wheelhouse, 105-ft., 2800-HP push boat will work the Lower Mississippi River and inland waterways of Louisiana. The Thomas M. Gattle is the 9th new boat Terral RiverService has launched in the last 8 years, and we are very proud of our fleet of new boats.

TRS Golf TournamentWe took time, as we do every fall, to get out and enjoy the season with friends. Our 7th-annual Terral RiverService Golf Tournament was a success. Nineteen teams played at the Vicksburg Country Club in October. We appreciate our vendors and customers joining us to make this our best tournament thus far.

Corporate Retreat

Our annual corporate retreat was held at the Shepherd of the Ozarks in Arkansas during the second weekend of October. We enjoyed fishing, hiking, 4-wheeling, and good food and friendship. All those in attendance had a relaxing time away from the daily office routine.

Lake Providence constructionWe have begun a major refurbishment of our Lake Providence fertilizer warehouse. We expect completion of the project in one year, and our goal is to continue operating out of this warehouse during its refurbishment.

Business has been good this season. High commodity prices have stimulated better movement of fertilizer, and our fall tonnage has kept us very busy keeping up with demand. Good weather and good yields afforded farmers opportunities to prepare for next spring, even in the face of higher than normal fertilizer prices.

We are thankful for the good news and successes of this fall, and grateful for everyone we do business with. Have a happy and blessed holiday season.
